Baptism is so awesome. It's so symbolic. Colossians 2:12 says "you were buried with Christ when you were baptized. And with him you were raised to new life because you trusted the mighty power of God, who raised Christ from the dead." 

As a believer in Jesus is baptized in water we are testifying of how Jesus died, was buried and rose again. We testify of how Jesus gives us a new life after we were dead and buried in our sin but raised to new life through salvation in Christ.

Jesus told us to "Go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit." Matthew 28:19
