Charles & Kehinde Moodie

Charles and Kehinde Moodie have been married for 25 years and are proud parents to two

sons, Joshua and Josiah. In July 2012, the Moodie family moved from New York to Chicago to minister in the Englewood neighborhood. As lead pastors of Chicago City Life Center, their church’s motto is “Changing our city, one life at a time.”

The Moodies are dedicated to reaching people beyond the church walls, with a passion for ministering to men, women, teens, and children—discipling them and empowering them to become agents of change in their community. They believe God has called them to bring the light of Jesus Christ to the darkest areas of the city.

Their ministry offers a variety of weekly programs, including:

  • School of Life Preschool

  • PAI Pregnancy Resource Center

  • Reproof Counseling Center

  • Dinner Church

  • Open Run (Basketball)

  • Street Evangelism

  • Men’s Discipleship

  • Women’s Discipleship

  • Sunday Celebration Service

Currently, they are working to establish Southside Life House—the first and only maternity home on the South Side of Chicago.

Fun Fact:

Chicago is called the Windy City; it has nothing to do with windy. It’s called the windy city because of the wind that comes out of the politicians’ mouths.
